Raam Nawmi.....

Raam nawmi is the celebration of the appearance of Lord Raama as a human being,on this planet, earth.

Lord Raama manifested himself on the planet earth for the purpose of re-establishing the codes of Sanatan Dharma, both by examples and precepts.

Raam Nawmi is the ninth lunar day in the bright forthnight in the month of Chaitra. On that day,the Lord and master of this world incarnated on earth .

Lord Raama showed us by example, how to be an obedient son,a noble husband,a protector of all that is good,a unique brother and how to live with an unblemished character.

Raam Nawmi is celebrated in Trinidad each year.Hindus clean their yards, houses and surroundings. They observe fasting and attend temples to take part in Pooja(prayers). They indulge in the singing of bhajans and kirtans(religious songs).

The worship of Lord Raama is accompanied by the singing of a unique type of bhajans called Palana Bhajans. These bhajans are in fact sung only at a point in time when it reflects the birth of a Holy child.

The reading of Raama Janma Katha is also an integral part of this celebration since,it conveys the details of the purpose of the Avatar or incarnation. This celebration is observed at midday on whichever day that Raam Nawmi falls on.

Janam Ashtmi.....

Janam Ashtmi is the celebration associated with the appearance of Lord Krishna as God in human form. The celebrations are quite similar to that of Raam Nawmi except that this celebration is observed at midnight.

Lord Krishna incarnated on this planet to re-establish righteousness. The exploits of his teachings are documented in The Bhagavad Gita , The Mahabharata and the The Bhagawat Mahapurana which are sacred texts associated with His incarnation and various manifestations.

HANUMAN JAYANTI.....

Hanuman Jayanti is the appearance of Hanuman (the monkey God). This day occurs on the full moon day of the month of Chaitra(March-April)of each year.

Hanuman is the greatest devotee of God.He was the only one to be imortalised by the Lord at the end of Raam Leela.Hanuman represents bhakti or devotion. He is the abode of wisdom and the lighthouse of selfless service to God and duty.He is divinity absorbed in divinity.
