When Dussashana heard what his father did,he ran to Duryodhana and told him the details.Duryodhana was upset at Dhritarashtra's decision and told the King that whatever was won by them were fairly won and should not be given back to the Pandavas.

Then he came up with yet another scheme. He told Dhritarashtra that since he has returned the loot to the Pandavas then in all fairness, it now leaves room for the dice to be rolled a last time.Whoever wins gets the kingdom and who loses should go into exile for twelve years and an extra year they should live in disguise. If they are caught and are recognised, then they must again repeat another twelve years.

He further stated that the dice would be rolled only once and at the end of the thirteenth year if the losers were not discovered while in disguise, they would regain the kingdom.

Dhritarashtra was so taken up with his love for his son that he ignored all that had just happened and asked Yudhishtira to play the game one more time.Yudhishtira was obedient to his father's elder brother and played the dice once more.He lost again and had to retreat to the forest in exile for thirteen years.
