The Rajasuya Yagna had been completed and all the specially invited guests had returned to their respective homes.Krishna had also departed to his Dwarka. However,Duryodhana, his brother Dusshashan and their friend Karna stayed back. They wanted to see more of the palace that Maya built. Yudhishtira was glad to have them there and bore no animosity against them.

Maya had used the best of his resourses to create some startling effects. For example, where there were floors it appeared as if there was water there and vice versa. The same applied to walls. In some cases the walls were so transparent that one would think that there were no wall at all.

Duryodhana became a victim of this great illusion when he walked into a wall thinking that there was no wall there. He also was walking along the floor and then suddenly fell into a pool of water because both the floor and the water looked alike.

When this happened Draupadi broke out in laughter saying that the son of a blind man could only be a blind man himself.Duryodhana was not only embarrased but infuryated. He then left Indraprastha and hurried back to Hastinapura.Even though Yudhishtira tried to pacify him he did not stay back any longer.
